Donations and Support

Our parent or "umbrella" organization, North Carolina Partnership for Children (NCPC), allocates to local partnerships like Smart Start of Buncombe County only a portion of the full funding required each year. Therefore, we rely heavily on local gifts from individuals and corporations to help us in our work of ensuring that our children aged birth-thru-five arrive at kindergarten healthy and ready to succeed.

Private and corporate gifts, and donations of money, time, and services are always needed and most welcome because we are required to raise an amount equal to 10% of our funding in cash and in-kind contributions.

To make donations, or to discuss corporate or foundation support, please contact our Executive Director, Ron Bradford, at 828.285.9333, x.24.

Volunteering

Although the Smart Start office does not have many volunteer opportunities, those who are interested in "hands on" volunteering may directly contact the organizations now carrying out Smart Start programs. See the program descriptions and contact information under the "Programs" menu at top.
